SITUATION
HCSC wanted to help their employees professionally develop not just as corporate managers, but as innovators. They wondered: What could a HCSC employee learn by leaving their normal role and working at MATTER?
HOW MATTER HELPED
Together, MATTER and HCSC developed the HCSC Innovation Fellowship program. For three months, an early to mid stage employee becomes a part of the MATTER team to act as an onsite resource and to experience life as an entrepreneur.
OUTCOME
Over the course of a year, four innovation fellows joined the MATTER team. Fellows returned to their roles at HCSC “deprogrammed” as corporate executives and reprogrammed as entrepreneurs. Their time at MATTER changed they way they approached work: They became risk-takers with the ability to build innovative solutions with speed and agility and gained cross-functional skills they brought back to their team at HCSC.
